The Leader

Blue Planet Foods Pvt. Ltd. was started by the initiative of Chef Gowtham Balasubramanian, Chef Balaji Balachander, and hotelier Michael Anthony. We started our journey from Chennai in 2013 and now we have grown our presence to four restaurants across two cities i.e Chennai and Bangalore. Location was the key in making our decisions and they definitely paid off. Each location is a landmark destination in itself, thereby providing the much-needed impetus in terms of customer visibility.

Salt is based on a very simple mantra; “Most delicious Indian recipes that reflect the real taste and soul of Indian Food which is served in a cheerful restaurant where food lovers can relax and eat with their fingers if they wish.” At SALT we experiment with the finest Indian spices and ingredients along with diverse cooking techniques to recreate traditional recipes, providing each diner with an aromatic. visual and flavorful dining experience.

Our menu spans the breadth and depth of India, delivering the most delicious recipes that reflect the real taste and soul of Indian food. Our signature dishes like Subzi Quinoa Tikki, Mutton Sukha Goli from our sharing plates and combos to the grills.

Our curries are light and flavourful dishes like Ras-Bhari Kofta Curry, Alleppey Fish Curry, SALT Special Dal Makhani, and Mutton Chops Curry.

Our desserts are unique and innovative; rather than having the regular milk-based Indian desserts, we have created memorable desserts like Filter Coffee Brulee, Saffroni Kulfi, and Ras Malai.

We believe it’s not one man responsible for the success of the restaurant, it’s the whole team. We are a people company and the three most important core values we follow at SALT are Our People, Our Product, and Our Guest.

OUR RESTAURANTS

The first SALT opened its door in Chennai at Nexus Vijaya Mall in 2013. This was Chennai’s bustling mall with grandeur Cinema screens by Sathyam and never have seen before in Chennai top lifestyle brands.

SALT is well known in the Chennai market and has been frequented by Celebrities over the years for good food and excellent service.

The menu is a fair share of North and South Indian keeping in mind the local palate.

The Second SALT and the first in Bengaluru at the newest Lifestyle center located in the new social and Lifestyle hub of Bangalore, Whitefield.

It is situated on the third floor and has a balcony seating which overlooks its surroundings is best enjoyed in the evening.

This is one of the favorite Indian restaurants for corporates like HP, EY to name a few and the Saturday Brunch is a big hit amongst shoppers and families alike.

The third SALT finds its home in Nexus Koramangala, Bangalore’s oldest and busiest mall centrally located in the city with its popular retail & cinemas.

It has a view towards the bustling environment and hanging garden along with funny quotes adorning the walls.

With one of the highest footfalls in the city, Nexus Mall will act as a catalyst to make SALT one of the most favorite dine-in places for the people of Bengaluru

SALT in Nexus Shantiniketan was launched in a residential community of 1000+ apartments and several offices making it number 4 on the list. 

The bar was set up with a team from Hong Kong where their bars feature in the Top 50 in Hong Kong.

The highlight of the place is bright walls with graphics,mix of seating options and an al-fresco open seating area

The newest member of SALT restaurants finds itself in the centre of the bustling Bengaluru hub, UB City. 

The ambiance and vibe created around SALT, UB City resonates comtemporary and a casual set up. 

The highlight of the property is the alfresco seating, that makes people want to enjoy the breath taking views at UB City whilst sipping on a glass of crisp wine and enjoy robust flavors from the kitchen
